"Dammit"

Ludwig reached another red light. He punches the steering wheel in frustration as he waits for the light to turn green. He feels like some divine being is trying to prevent him from reaching [F/N]. Looking up to the roof of his car, he started shouting obscenities to that being as the light finally turned green. He raced through the intersection and finally entering the freeway to the airport. His mind was repeating words he was going to say to her, begging for forgiveness and letting her know how much she means to him. He was hoping he would get there in time and spill out his heart to her for what it seemed for the first time in a long time. He knows he was stupid for taking her love and loyalty for granted. He gripped the steering wheel as the words his brother told him echoed through his mind,

"If you really love her like you say you do, just let her go for her own sake and yours."

"No, I'm not giving up, please [F/N], wait for me, don't leave just yet."

As he weaved in and out of traffic, visions of [F/N] started coming through his mind. How breathtaking she was when he first met her, trying to get to know her but Alfred's constant interruptions prevented him to have a decent conversation with her. It took him to step out of his comfort zone and loudly ask for her number. The smile she gave to him was one he would never forget. Talks that would last for hours was the norm. He would wake up tired the next day and as he got ready, a smile would cross his lips as he started to replay the conversation hours before. He remembered the first time he took her out on a date after a nervous-filled week of ways he would ask a simple 8 word sentence. He wiped a tear from the very same cheek where she had kissed him on that very date. Where there is light, darkness was soon to follow, he shook his head as other darker visions replayed in his mind. Although he tried to push it back, the hurt and broken was present before him. Her bright smile soon turned into a small fake one, when another promise he made to her was unfulfilled. Days turned into instead of being next to her warm body, he opted to release his stress by locking himself in his office and drowning himself in liquor. Ludwig started to cry again as the memories of him slowly drifting away from her started to flood his mind. He was scared to show loving expressions to her, scared what she might think of him when he fully let his guard down. He was sometimes harsh to her but that was Ludwig and even through the harshest tone of voice he gave her for some petty thing she did, that bright smile of hers would still be there, being understanding as always.

He reached the airport and decided to park his car in the unloading zone, not giving a care in the world if they towed his car. As he shut the door and ran out into the airport, shouts from the employees was slowly fading away. He dodged people left and right until be found a giant screen of Arrivals and Departures and scan to find the airline he was looking for. Once he found the airline, he ran to the line cutting off the passengers that were next.

"Excuse me Ma'am, can you please tell me if [F/N][L/N] has checked in yet, she said her flight leaves at 5 but I just wanted to make sure."

"I'm sorry sir, I cant release that information to you."

Ludwig quickly had to make up a convincing story

"Ma'am please, [F/N] is m-my c-cousin and when she wasn't in her room, we automatically assumed the worst. When we received a phone call from home out of the country regarding her mother, she ran off. We looked everywhere and I just want to know if she went left for New York City."

The stewardess bought the lie and looked at her computer and told Ludwig that she indeed checked in not to long ago. Ludwig thanked her and apologized to the people he cut off and ran to the direction of the terminal. He scanned the people ahead of him until he saw what he was looking for. Her beautiful skin, her [H/C] flowing around as she walked. He was hypnotized by her, his legs slowly gravitating towards her, it felt like the first time they met. He snapped out out of trance when he felt strong hands against his chest.

"Ticket sir"

"I-I don't have a ticket"

"Then you are not allowed beyond this point."

"Please I need to get to that young lady over there, please sir just let me go through, I promise I would be right back."

"Sorry I cant let you go beyond this point without a ticket."

"[F/N]! [F/N]!" Ludwig yelled hoping she would turn around but she just continued walking. The employee was getting irritated at Ludwig for yelling in his ear.

"Sir, I need you to quiet dow-"

"PLEASE [F/N] LISTEN TO ME, PLEASE TURN AROUND, I'M SORRY AND I LOVE YOU. DON'T LEAVE ME PLEASE!"

A small hope rushed through him as he saw her stop dead in her tracks. He was hoping she would turn around and see him, see how miserable he was without her. Time seemed to stop when he saw her continue to head towards her flight. He tried to rush past the employee but more hands started to grab him and pull him away from her. Muffled voices were heard around him and he continued to stare at the light and love of his life walk away from him. The bright sun awoke him from his shock, he was outside the building, with no [F/N] to go home with. His car was gone as he predicted, so he walked to the parking structure across the way and climbed to the top. He stared at the sight before him, her plane leaving for takeoff.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

You stood there in shock, you wanted to believe it was just your imagination playing with your emotions. You didn't want to turn around, you didn't want to face him. How long was he going to be affectionate with you? How long would it take him to go back and forgetting your existence? You didn't want to be in that dark place again, who knows if you are going to dig yourself out again if things go sour.

"He came for me" you whispered to yourself, "He is here, he sees me"

You let out a whimpered sob and you let your feet decide what it wanted to do. After a couple of steps, you can hear a commotion at the security gate as conversations around told you what was happening without the need to seeing it for yourself, you felt that he deserved all that was coming to him. He deserved it after breaking your heart. Once you sat on your seat on your plane, relief pour through you in the form of tears. They stopped flowing as soon as the plane was taking off, and you soon fell asleep excited to finally go home.

The announcement of the planes final destination jolted you awake, freeing you from another Ludwig themed dream. Although you had plenty of sleep, your body was still worn out from recent events. You gathered your things and hailed a taxi, somewhat excited to see your best friend. The sights and sounds of New York was comforting, you never would of thought you would miss this congested city. The taxi dropped you off in front of your old home, your stomach was in knots worried what Alfred would do or say. You glanced at the time on your cell,5:30 pm, Alfred should be home at this time. The driver was off after you paid him and slowly you climbed the few steps of his home. Your hand was shaking as you knocked on the door. A few seconds of silence went by until you heard what sounded like someone running down the steps. You sighed remembering all the times you had told Alfred not to run down the stairs. The door swings open and you see Alfred eyes go wide and his mouth hangs open,

"[F/N]? W-what are you doing here?"

Tears flowed again as you stood there staring into his blue eyes and sandy golden hair and of course wearing a superhero shirt and some faded black shorts, he certainly hasn't changed one bit.

"I left him, Alfred"

He took one step towards you and pulled you into a strong hug. You started sobbing into his shirt, your hands went to his back and grabbed two fistfuls of shirt.

"Shh, don't cry [F/N], you have no idea how much I've missed you"

"I missed you too" You manage to choke out and you hugged him even tighter.

"Welcome home"

I would've actually unconsciously turned around, but then seeing him I would immediately turn back and continue walking with a straight face.
